We're Bevan and Jarrad, licensed builders based in Woonona. We build decks, pergolas and renovations across the Illawarra and the Shire, and the same two people who quote your job are the ones building it.
Our story
Built on the Tools, Not Behind a Desk
Broadwater started the way most good building teams do, with two tradesmen who trusted each other's work. Bevan and Jarrad have worked side by side for close to ten years, and between them they've got over 25 years of experience across decks, pergolas, bathrooms and carpentry.
Based in Woonona, we work across the Illawarra and the Sutherland Shire. We kept the team deliberately small for one reason: so the people you meet at the quote are the people on your job. No subcontracted crew running under someone else's licence, no handing you off once the deposit's paid.
Carpentry is what we're both passionate about, and it shows up in the detail, the parts of a job most people wouldn't notice, and the ones that make it look right.

Do the unseen right
The parts that decide whether a build lasts are the parts you can't see: substructure, fixings, waterproofing. We spec them properly, because that's where a cheap job makes its margin back.
Keep you in the loop
The most common complaint about builders is silence. We keep you posted the whole way through, so you always know what's happening and when.
Say it straight
Clear, itemised quotes and honest advice, even when it's not what you hoped to hear. If a repair is the smarter spend than a rebuild, we'll tell you.

Bevan
Co-owner · Licensed Builder
Bevan has spent the better part of his working life on the tools, and building is genuinely what he loves doing. He came up through carpentry and has run projects across the Illawarra for years, from straightforward decks through to detailed renovation work where the finish is everything.
On site he's the one who won't cut a corner you can't see. Substructures, fixings, the way a frame goes together, that's where he's fussiest, because he knows it's what decides whether a build is still solid in ten years. Clients tend to remember him for being upfront: if something's a bad idea, he'll say so, and he'll tell you why.
Jarrad
Co-owner · Licensed Builder
Jarrad is the other half of Broadwater, and like Bevan, carpentry is where his head's at. He's spent years honing the detail side of the trade, the custom joinery, the feature timberwork, the parts of a job that most people wouldn't notice but that make a finished space look right.
Clients tend to talk about how easy he is to deal with. He keeps you posted, turns up when he said he would, and leaves a clean site. Between the two of them, Bevan and Jarrad have worked side by side for close to ten years, and that shorthand shows up in how smoothly a job runs.
